Sustainability Initiatives

For its 31st edition, the CAUTHE conference will put a particular emphasis on sustainability by:

- Reducing waste (no printed program, flyers, or satchel inserts – everything will be online) and the carbon print (everything withing walking distance to avoid having to take taxis/trains/cars)

- Reusing: water fountains will be set up instead of single use plastic bottles, encouraging delegates to bring their own reusable water bottles and coffee cups

- Recycling conference satchel bags by asking delegates to reuse their CAUTHE satchel bags from previous years and to even bring maybe more than one to share to new conference attendees.

We also encourage the delegates who will be flying from interstate or overseas to pay the carbon offset on their flight in exchange of a free drink during the conference.

Whether it is throughout the planning process or during the conference itself, all our efforts will be put into trying to get the most plastic free and sustainable event as possible. Following this mindset, we have advised the Hotel about the conference initiatives and they are working on new ideas to implement in order to stay in line with this project.
